    Goodwill of Central Iowa is looking for an experienced Learning and Development Specialist. If you have experience designing, developing, analyzing, and implementing training check out what it would be like to be our Learning and Development Specialist! 

     

    Our Learning and Development Specialist will support and lead organization-wide training initatives. Using a blended learning approach, our Learning and Development Specialist will help foster a culture of employee development. This position will help improve employee performance and ensure organizational productivity.

     

    What you'll do here:

    • Responsible for the development, design, coordination, and delivery of training for a variety of employees across the organization. Delivery of training will occur in a variety of formats including classroom, virtual, and train-the-trainer.
    • Facilitates and monitors effectiveness of training in all Goodwill of Central Iowa locations. Improves and updates content as necessary.
    • Collaborates with leaders and employees across the organization to understand and analyze training needs using industry best practices and learning and development methodologies.
    • Develops framework for onboarding to ensure consistent and successful onboarding in all departments.
    • Works closely with Retail teams to translate processes and procedures to employees of various levels of expertise and experience.
    • Partners with subject matter experts in the organization to align training to organizational goals.
    • Analyzes data and performance trends to optimize business and mission operations.
    • Administers and updates content and training completion using the Learning Management System.

    Qualifications

    What you'll need:

    • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • 2-4 years of experience analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating training.

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    • Experience designing training using a Learning Management System required.

    • Experience with organizational process improvement and evaluation required.

    • Prior retail or retail training experience preferred.

    This position will require 60-70% local travel in central Iowa.
