    Goodwill of Central Iowa participates, along with approximately 100 other Goodwills across the US, as a retailer on ShopGoodwill.com.  ShopGoodwill.com is similar to eBay, in that items are sold via an online auction. The ShopGoodwill E-Commerce Processor is responsible for aution production from start to finish, this includes: evaluating "new arrival" merchandise, entering descriptions for each item online, reporting the condition of the item, and monitoring the balance of merchandise by category on the site.  The ShopGoodwill E-Commerce Processor will properly weigh, package, label and ship items sold using UPS/ISPS software and guidelines.  The E-Commerce processor will also handle all email communication from buyers, software representatives and website representatives. 

     

    The ShopGoodwill E-Commerce Processor will assist buyers in navigating the websites as needed.  The E-Commerce Processor will monitor supplies, and generate monthly and/or bi-weekly summary reports to submit to management.  The E-Commerce Processor will also be responsible for keeping the area organized and clean, and ensure that security measures are taken properly in the area.

     

    This role will require flexible hours, to include days, evenings and occasional weekends as needed.

     

    What you'll do here:

    • Monitor product flow and production numbers
    • Enter descriptions of each item online
    • Report the full condition of each item
    • Properly weigh, package, label and ship items
    • Monitor packing supplies
    • Communicate with retail stores on a regular basis
    • Generate reports as requested
    • Coordinate refunds as needed
    • Process jewelry as needed
    • Keep work area clean and organized
    • Achieve production goals
    • Ensure security measures are taken in eCommerce area
    • Follow safety and security requirements
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    What you'll need:

    • A high school diploma or its equivalent, or a minimum of four (4) years of any combination of military service, high school or related full-time paid employment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Basic computer and math skills are a MUST
    • The ability to carry, lift, push or pull fifty (50) pounds or more
    • MUST possess a positive work attitude
    • MUST know how to organize, prioritize and plan work to meet deadlines
    • The ability to type 40 words per minute
    • MUST be able to learn jewelry processing techniques
    • MUST have a valid driver license, a good driving record and be insurable
    • MUST be able to pass a criminal background check and dependent adult and child abuse background check

    Preferred skills:

    • Knowledge of antiques, collectibles and jewelry
    • Knowledge of concepts, methods and techniques of processing inventory
    • An understanding of how to effectively use a digital camera, computer and printer
    • An understanding of how to effectively navigate online sites
